Agriculture Minister Uri Ariel has responded to the announcement by Jordan's King Abdullah II that agricultural land in the Arava would be transferred to Jordanian sovereignty.
Ariel said, "I instructed the Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture to prepare immediately, assuming that the Jordanians carry out their announcement. The farmers will not be left alone and we will find the best solution for the Israeli farmers."
