The Board of Directors of the Journalists Association in Tel Aviv has unanimously decided to award the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Eilat Journalism Conference 2018 to journalist Shimon Schiffer of Yediot Ahronot and political cartoonist Amos Biderman of Haaretz.

Schiffer, has been with Yediot for nearly 30 years and was the first to report the existence of secret negotiations between Israeli and Palestine Liberation Organization representatives in Scandinavia, which culminated in the Oslo Accords. Biderman has spent the past 20 years at Haaretz, also serving in the newspapers Ha'ir, Kol Ha'Ir and Hadashot. His work won the United Nations Prize and he was the first recipient of the Dosh Prize for Caricature.
