The Degel Hatorah and Shas parties published a statement on Wednesday evening following the court's decision to disqualify Yitzhak Pindrus from running for mayor of Elad.

"Today, unfortunately, we experienced another low in the haredi public. A spiteful petition, filed against the candidate of the great rabbis of Israel as part of the attempts to undermine the obligation to obey the Torah greats, was accepted by the court."

"The parties intend to appeal right away to the Supreme Court against the bizarre decision and are certain that logic and sanity will prevail, and that Rabbi Yitzhak Pindrus will run for mayor and win," the two parties said.
