The opposition in Australia responded to Prime Minister Scott Morrison's announcement that he was considering recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and moving Australia's embassy there by saying, "Both the government and the opposition have in the past supported the approach of most other countries to leave our embassy in Tel Aviv, arguing that the status of Jerusalem must be determined within the framework of a comprehensive two-state solution."
A spokeswoman for the Australian Labor Party added, "All Australians deserve a leader who puts the national interest ahead of his self-interest, and governs in the best long-term interest of the nation."
