Member of Knesset Sharren Haskel (Likud) has welcomed Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison's announcement that he is considering moving his country's embassy to Jerusalem, saying, "If it does, it will be a historic change that will also strengthen our relationship."
Writing on Twitter, MK Haskel explained, "As chairman of the Israel-Australia Parliamentary Friendship League, I encouraged the long-term transfer of the embassy to Jerusalem to members of parliament and the Jewish community. In a congratulatory letter when he entered office, I asked Prime Minister Scott Morrison to encourage the transfer."
