Danish Foreign Minister Anders Samuelsen has condemned the United Nations Human Rights Council's discrimination against Israel, according to President Gerald M. Steinberg of NGO Monitor.
Professor cited an opinion piece in the Danish newspaper Berlingske, written upon Denmark joining the council, in which Samuelsen says the council's Item 7 alleging Israeli abuses in Arab territory "does not make sense," noting that "every 4th resolution" attacks Israel. The foreign minister says Israel must be treated on an equal footing with other countries and that Denmark seeks more equitable balance.
