The cyber department in the State Prosecutor's Office has filed another indictment in the Tel Aviv Magistrates Court against a defendant known as the "Hacker from Ashkelon", charging him with attempting to escape legal custody, extortion by threats, receiving material fraudulently, publishing false information and other offenses.

According to the indictment, some of the offenses were committed when he was a minor and he is being detained until the end of the proceedings against him. A number of the offenses were allegedly committed while he has been held in connection with crimes of threats and intimidation against more than 2,000 institutions around the world, including Jewish institutions, airports, airlines, schools and police stations.
