The Darkenu movement, which is organizing the memorial ceremony for the late Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, responded to Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein after he refused to take part in the event. Edelstein had cited what he said was its over-policial nature as his reason for his refusal.
"We will work for a state rally to commemorate the anniversary of Rabin's assassination, which will remind us of the responsibility of all of us to act for a policy free of incitement and violence," said the organization. "We are determined to bridge and connect the voice of the moderate majority. Now that the Knesset speaker prefers political considerations, he is distorting our intentions and turning us back empty-handed"
