President Reuven Rivlin and his wife met with the Queen of Denmark at the royal palace on Wednesday. The meeting was also attended by the Danish Foreign Minister. The President expressed his sorrow to the Queen over the death of her husband, Prince Henryk earlier this year.
The President thanked the Queen for her personal involvement over the years in preserving the memory of the rescue of the Danish Jews and for the good relations with the Jewish community and the State of Israel.
The President also spoke about the development of the bilateral relations between the two countries in the civil and security fields, the opening of the Danish Innovation Center in Tel Aviv, which gives impetus to the promotion of trade relations, science and technology and the strong ties between the two countries in areas such as health, education, innovation, science and public administration. The President again invited the Queen to come and visit Israel soon.
