US: Hurricane Michael strengthens into a Category 3 hurricane

Hurricane Michael on Tuesday strengthened into a Category 3 hurricane, the National Hurricane Center said.

Earlier, the White House announced a state of emergency in Florida as the storm heads toward the Florida Panhandle.
