A group of haredi-religious is urging Members of Parliament to boycott this year’s Board of Deputies President’s dinner because the board does not represent the interest of all British Jews, according to Jewish News. The group also plans a protest outside the dinner.

Haredi activist Shraga Stern said the board only represents those affiliated to their synagogues, so “they cannot truthfully claim to represent the majority of British Jews." He added, "The remaining 80 per cent of Jews, a large proportion of which is made up by the Charedi Jews, do not consider that their views are represented by the BoD”. He said "three out of every four children in Jewish schools are haredi," and that the UK haredi population numbers 67,000.
