Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon have decided to appoint Professor Amir Yaron to be the next governor of the Bank of Israel, replacing Doctor Karnit Flug, who is scheduled to leave the post on November 12, after five years.
Yaron's candidacy will be submitted for the approval of the committee for the appointment of senior officials and to the candidate. He currently lives in the United States, where he serves as a professor of banking and finance at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business.
