Spokesman Ronen Manlis of the Israel Defense Forces confirmed Tuesday that thousands of Gazans damaged the old security fence in the Gaza Strip and set fire to it on Monday evening, and that one of the rioters crossed into Israel for a short period of time, setting fire to an abandoned military position near the fence. There were no casualties and only a camouflage network was damaged.
