Members of the Histadrut Labor Federation have approved Chairman Avi Nissenkorn's request to declare a general labor dispute throughout the economy on the issue of work safety.
The Histadrut claims that there is "ongoing lawlessness regarding the neglect of work safety", especially in light of the increasing number of fatalities and injuries in accidents in the construction industry. Since the beginning of 2018, 31 people have been killed and more than 100 have been seriously injured. If the matter is not resolved in two weeks, there could be a general strike.
