The New York Times reported that New Zealand has passed a law stating that any tourist who refuses to reveal their phone password to authorities during a search will be fined 3,000 Dollars.
Authorities in the country have said searches will only be carried out if there is reasonable suspicion that the device has child pornography or has been used for drug offenses, money laundering, or security offenses.
