German Chancellor Angela Merkel was asked by a student during her visit to the Israel Museum in Jerusalem if she would intervene for an arrangement of calm in Gaza and help with the return of Israeli civilians and the bodies of soldiers held by Hamas.
Merkel responded, "During the captivity of Gilad Schalit, we gave support and we worked hard. Today we are also making efforts, and if we can do more in the future, we will do it."
