On the occasion of the arrival in Israel of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Highway 1 was closed from Ganot interchange to Ganot Sakharov interchange to the east.
Highway 6 was closed to traffic from Ben Shemen interchange to the south.
Police are asking drivers to use alternative routes.
