The Israel Police have uncovered a cache of weapons and other equipment during operations in the Israeli-Arab town of Kafr Qasem, east of Tel Aviv.

The cache included two M-16 assault rifles, 10 M-16 ammunition clips, two handguns, a telescopic sight, a flashlight, a compass, an assault handle and 41 packages of various kinds of bullets. A suspect was arrested along with his brother, who lived nearby and was suspected of possessing drugs. The two were brought on Monday to the Magistrates Court in Petach Tikva and their detention was extended by five days.
