One of the Gulf states has pledged to cover about a third of the $185 million deficit of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Land of Israel Arabs whose families left when the modern Jewish state was founded, according to the Israel Public Broadcasting Corporation.

The pledge was made in the framework of preliminary talks held by UNRWA leaders ahead of the conference to be held today on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, during which they will discuss the budget crisis and ways to get out of it.
