Chairman Naftali Bennett of the Jewish Home Party has held meetings with several of the party's Knesset members in recent weeks and explicitly raised the possibility of canceling traditional primaries and determining the list of the party by a committee, according to Yediot Ahronot.
Bennett said that he is interested in strengthening support for him in the religious Zionist sector, expanding the ranks and diversifying the list. One possibility that arose was the existence of electronic primaries in which each member of the party would vote from his home by means of a special code. Sources close to Bennett stressed that there are a number of options on the agenda and that a complete cancellation of the primaries is not his preferred option.
