According to a report on the incident last week in which Syrian air-defense batteries accidentally shot down a Russian aircraft, the Russian Ministry of Defense has come to the conclusion that Israel is responsible because:
"The Israelis are guilty of dropping the plane because they provided false information regarding the location of the attack which created a situation where the Russian plane didn't leave the area safely,"
The Ministry also claimed that: "The Israelis knew that Syrian anti-aircraft systems would not identify the Russian plane as Russian, and the Israeli's used it as a human shield."
