Deputy Jerusalem Mayor and candidate for mayor of Jerusalem, Yossi Deitch, responded on Thursday evening to the political developments of the past 24 hours.

"As a Jerusalemite in my soul, I have been serving the public in Jerusalem for 12 and a half years. I know better than the other candidates the problems Jerusalem has and I know how to solve those problems," Deitch said. "I was sent to the position by the Council of Torah Sages of Agudath Israel. I enjoy the faith of the haredi public, the faith of the national religious public, and the faith of the secular public.”

"I am running with God's help and with God's help I will gather more and more people to believe in the message that I am leading: We have to change Jerusalem. There is no lack of politicians in Jerusalem, what we lack is someone who will come to run Jerusalem, someone who will wake up in the morning and think about how to clean Jerusalem, how to build classrooms in Jerusalem, how we bring educational institutions to Jerusalem, how to ensure employment in Jerusalem, how to bring more and more young couples to Jerusalem. That's what needs to be done," he added.
