Alexander Sherin, a senior member of the Russian parliament's security committee, said on Tuesday that "Israel should be prevented from operating freely in Syria," according to the Israel Public Broadcasting Corporation.
Interviewed by Russia's Interfax news agency after the fatal downing of a Russian military transport, Sherin said,"If a criminal breaks into your home and kills your wife and children - you will not sit with him to drink tea."
