There are several things that can help in order to pass the Yom Kippur fast more easily.
It is recommended to put a jar of water or herbal tea without sugar in an accessible place and make sure to drink all day long. Have three-to-four small meals since large meals don't make fasting easier. That means a light early lunch and seudah mafsaket, which should include complex carbohydrates to reduce the secretion of insulin and the feeling of hunger. One should also eat a protein source to slow the emptying of the stomach and contribute to the feeling of satiety.
It is recommended to reduce caffeine intake to prevent headaches resulting from caffeine deficiency. Food should not be too much spicy. Reduce simple carbohydrates like sugar-rich foods which will increase your blood sugar levels and increase your hunger. It is recommended to avoid drinking alcohol.
