Three youths went to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem's Old City on Monday and were arrested after praying there.

The official reason for the arrest was "interfering with a policeman" and "an attempt to disrupt public order." The youths were released after questioning. Attorney Nati Rom, who represents the youths on behalf of the Honenu legal-aid organization, said that the boys came to a secluded and isolated place and prayed with nobody around them, except for the group that went up to the holy site. He noted, "They were not arrested for the prayer itself because there is no law prohibiting this, but they were arrested for disturbing a policeman in the performance of his duties and an attempt to disrupt public order."
