Reuters reported that US Defense Secretary Jim Mattis while in Skopje the capital of Macedonia warned that Russia was attempting to meddle in a referendum regarding the name of the former Yugoslavian republic.
The name Macedonia has served as a point of tension with Greece which claims the real Macedonia is a province of their country.
