The Likud Party has responded to former prime minister Ehud Barak's statement in a Maariv interview comparing Prime Minister and Party Chairman Binyamin Netanyahu to former Romanian leader Nicolae Ceaușescu, saying "Those who raised him are the ones who will take him down."
A Likud statement said, "Day by day Ehud Barak emerges as eccentric and delusional. His remarks against Prime Minister Netanyahu are incitement to murder. Barak has simply lost it."
