More than 1,500 people took part, Sunday evening, in a toast for the new Jewish year, hosted by the campaign of Jerusalem mayoral candidate Ze'ev Elkin.

The environment and Jerusalem affairs minister told those in attendance, "Look around. There are young men and women here, men and women, religious, secular and haredi-religious, immigrants and old-timers, residents of the city center and the residents of the neighborhoods. All of Jerusalem is here. This is what characterizes us and this is what will always characterize us. We are not looking to pit publics against publics but to be united and lead Jerusalem. You are the connection."
