MK Moti Yogev (Jewish Home), acting chairman of the Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, criticized the IDF's initiative to establish a committee to ease the punishment of terrorists:
"Those who pity cruelty will end up being cruel to the merciful," Yogev said. "I call upon the defense minister to examine these decisions and to nullify them on a moral basis," he said, referring to the decision to cancel the demolition of the house of the terrorist who murdered Adiel Coleman, for reasons of insanity, and on the other hand to seek leniency in the punishment of murderers.
