Police discovered a marijuana field in the heart of a forest near the settlement of Netua in the north of the country.
The investigation revealed that a 51-year-old resident of Nahariya who in the past had been a resident of Netua had taken over a public area in the heart of the forest. He had set up an irrigation system using a pirated connection to the irrigation network in place.
The suspect also cut down oak trees that were part of the forest for the planting of the marijuana field. The suspect's remand was extended until Monday.
