Minister Elkin slams choice of Tel Aviv for Eurovison

Mako reported that Minister of Jerusalem Affairs (Likud) and Jerusalem Mayoral candidate, Zeev Elkin slammed the choice of Tel Aviv for the Eurovision contest 2019, saying:

"The truth is that I am not surprised by the Europeans' position, but the public broadcasting corporation proves once again that it does not see strengthening Jerusalem as an important value. The corporation that tried to escape with all its might from broadcasting from Jerusalem, was only forced to remain in Jerusalem because of a law I passed. The public broadcasting corporation missed a very important opportunity to strengthen Jerusalem's status in the world and contribute to the city's development. The corporation that cuts itself off from Jerusalem and does not see it as valuable will end up losing the people of Israel if it continues in this way."
