Culture Minister Miri Regev said, Thursday, "From the moment the decision was made to host the Eurovision [Song Contest] in Tel Aviv, I have no doubt that the State of Israel and the city of Tel Aviv will host the Eurovision in the best and most honorable way. I wish success to the Israel Public Broadcasting Corporation, which has been entrusted with the production and of course to the artist who will represent us in the competition."

Regev noted that she had said from the start that she felt it was proper that Jerusalem would host the event as the capital of Israel.
