The High Court of Justice rejected outright a petition filed last week by Avraham Poraz against the practice of using poultry for Kaparot.

Poraz asked the High Court of Justice to instruct the Minister of Agriculture and the Police to act against the perpetrators of the custom by investigating and prosecuting those who carry out the Jewish rite. The petition was rejected, among other reasons, because it was submitted only four working days before Yom Kippur.
