a police spokesperson was quoted as saying that:
"Police have completed security measures for the Jewish new year which begins tonight Sunday the 9th and continues until the 11th.
During the holiday, security forces will maintain constant vigilance in cities, around synagogues, and in public places.
In Jerusalem, units will be on high alert in and around the old city and patrol all areas. Thousands of people are expected to visit the western wall during the new year.
Security assessments will be made public later during the week for security measures for Yom Kippur."
