Shas Chairman Aryeh Deri welcomed the election of the 24 new judges.
"I am proud to bless the twenty-four new judges, especially the fourteen rabbis of the Mizrachi communities who were chosen to serve as judges in the courts," said Deri.
"This is a great day for the world of Torah and for the great Sephardic Jewry when Torah scholars and exalted sages enter the law of truth and observe the halakha and rulings in the path paved by the Maran Rabbi Ovadia Yosef."
