Internal Security Minister Gilad Erdan is accusing the Ministry of Finance of withholding salary increases for police officers.
Interviewed by Israeli public radio, he said, "The Finance Ministry caused this terrible malfunction. In 2006, it paid a salary increment only to the career army, and concealed this supplement because it was obligated to pay it to the police, the Mossad, the Shin Bet and the Israel Prison Service. After 12 years when it was ordered to pay it, the amount swelled very much."
