Thousands of parents signed a protest letter addressed to the Ministry of Education saying:
"The Ministry of Education promotes the intensive activities of LGBT organizations to weaken family status and healthy sexual identity."
The letter also stated that: "the Education Ministry "promotes, and even funds, intensive and very aggressive activity by the LGBT organizations of the New Israel Fund."
The letter, for example, describes meetings in life skills classes for first grade, one of which is to "open up to the students the possibility of different patterns of families in which parents are members of the same sex."
