Rabbi Moshe Yehuda Leib Landa, Rabbi of Bnei Brak, has written a letter in which he says the understanding that Coca Cola does not need kosher certification is a mistake.
Rabbi Landa's kashrut certification organization oversees the Central Bottling Company's production of Coca Cola in Bnei Brak. He wrote, "It's very unfortunate to see that they bring the Coca-Cola drink into the country in cans and bottles made by the Palestinian Authority and from Europe, and trip up the public." He concluded his letter with the words, "And may the Lord save us from pitfalls and renew a good and sweet year for us."
