MK Yoav Ben-Tzur (Shas) issued a sharp condemnation following the burning of a picture of Shas chairman and Interior Minister Aryeh Deri by demonstrators in southern Tel Aviv.
"A handful of evil thugs are daring to reconstruct the violence that preceded Rabin's assassination, when this time the violent incitement is against Deri, who acted on the issue of the infiltrators even when he was severely criticized for it," Ben-Tzur said.
"I call upon Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan to instruct the Israel Police to increase enforcement and bring the rioters to justice. History is full of murder cases that began with the burning of pictures, and no distress justifies sinking to such a low level."
