Chairwoman Galia Wolloch of the Na'amat women's organization, whose daycare centers care for thousands of children, is calling on the government to take action, ahead of the daycare-center strike that is due to begin on Sunday, saying, "I do not understand how it is possible that 100,000 toddlers will remain at home on Sunday - and up to this moment no government official has contacted us."
Wolloch continued, "I call on the Ministry of Finance and Welfare to wake up. We don't have the ability, as responsible social organizations, to open the school year. At this stage intensive negotiations would be expected to begin to find a solution. The daycare centers will remain closed until the staffing and the conditions of the caregivers improves."
