An Amsterdam bakery called "Anne & Frank" is changing its name after fierce criticism over the link to Holocaust victim Anne Frank, who hid from the Nazis with her parents in a nearby building, according to the British Broadcasting Corporation.

The owner, named only as Roberto, was quoted as saying "It seemed like a nice name to me," and that Frank "is a hero for me too." Announcing the name change, he also said, "It wasn't my intention to offend anyone."
