The "national and Islamic forces" called the American decision to stop financial assistance to the Palestinian Authority: "insolent extortion."
National and Islamic forces in the Ramallah district, the supreme coordinating body of the Palestinian organizations, call for the establishment of a popular protection committee to protect Arabs from the "daily settler attacks" in Arab villages and towns and "oppose them by all means possible."
In a statement issued on Saturday, the national and Islamic forces denounced Israel's attempts to change the status quo in the Al-Aqsa Mosque as a preparatory stage for the dividing of Temple Mount between Muslims and Jews according to time and place. The statement emphasized that "there is no right for non-Muslims to hold a prayer on Temple Mount."
The American announcement of the non-transfer of $ 200 million in economic aid to the Palestinian Authority was described by the national and Islamic forces as "insolent extortion," noting that they "refuse to bargain the right of our (Palestinian) people to return for all the American money in the world."
The national and Islamic forces called on the Palestinian public to take part in a weekly demonstration this Tuesday in front of the Red Cross headquarters in Ramallah, in support of security prisoners holding a hunger strike and protesting the set-off of the pension money transferred by Israel to the PA.
They also encouraged the Palestinian public to take part in prayers on Friday in the illegal Bedouin settlement near Ma'aleh Adumim.
