7.1 magnitude earthquake rocks Peru

A massive 7.1 magnitude earthquake has hit eastern Peru near the Brazilian border Friday.

The US Geographical Survey recorded the quake at 4:04 a.m. local time Friday morning, some 150 miles northwest of Puerto Maldonado.
