A police officer was injured on Thursday when an armed man opened fire at police in central Moscow before being shot and injured himself, investigators said, according to AFP.
The man fired at the officers as he walked past them on a Moscow street, not far from the foreign ministry building, a statement from the Russian committee in charge of criminal enquiries said. The officers returned fire, injuring the man, who has been hospitalized. The motive behind the incident is unknown.
