Yisrael Beytenu MK Oded Forer blasted Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz's decision to stop road work on Tel Aviv's Ayalon highway because it was scheduled to take place on Shabbat.
"The prime minister must stop this madness," said Forer. "Minister Katz decided to hit one of Israel's busiest traffic arteries in order to wink at the haredi wing of the Likud. We have to remind Minister Katz that he is the transportation minister of the State of Israel and not the transportation minister of Agudath Israel. "
"I call on Minister Katz to retract his submission to the harefi coercion and to allow the vital work to be performed with minimal disturbance to the general public as originally planned. This is a bridge in central Tel Aviv and not on the road in the middle of Bnei Brak. The Likud must return to the fold and principle of its life and let live, "added Forer.
