Leader of the Yesh Atid Party, Yair Lapid, called on the government not give in to deputy health minister Yaakov Litzman's (United Torah Judaism) demand that work not be carried out on the "Yehudah bridge" on Shabbat. Lapid was quoted as saying: " We've already been down this road, huge traffic jams that affect all our lives because of Netanyahu's surrender to the Haredim in regards to the construction of the train on Shabbat. We cannot let this happen again, the work on the bridge has to happen during a time that least affects the lives of citizens."
