Asia Argento, a leader of the controversial #metoo movement and one of the first to claim that Harvey Weinstein sexually harassed her, has denied having had any sexual relations with James Bennett after it was revealed that she had paid the actor money in what he claims was an attempt to prevent him from revealing that they had had sexual relations without his consent, James was seventeen at the time of the alleged interaction.
Asia claims that the agreement to pay more than $380,000 was in order to help alleviate Bennett's "severe economic problems".
