Police said, Tuesday that "a prima facie evidentiary infrastructure has been formed" against Deputy Mayor Adam Amilov of the northern Haifa suburb of Kiryat Yam "to establish suspicion of involvement in the offenses of receiving by fraud under aggravated circumstances, fraud and breach of trust and the prohibition of making contact under the Municipalities Ordinance."
It is suspected that Amilov acted for several months, starting in 2014, to divert substantial public funds to an association in which he had a personal interest. The investigation file will be transferred to the State Prosecutor's Office for review and a decision.
