95-year-old Jakiw Palij has arrived in Germany after being removed from his home in New York City on Monday.

The Ukrainian-born Palij was ordered deported in 2004 after he was found to have falsely told authorities he spent the war at his hometown in Germany to gain entry into the United States in 1949. He had been accused of being an armed guard at the Treblinka death camp in Poland and was believed to be one the last known Nazi collaborator living in the US, charges he denied.
