President Reuven Rivlin told those at the dedication of the Ariel University Medical School, Sunday evening, "Thirty-six years ago, the Academic College of Judea and Samaria was established and I was privileged to be among those laying the cornerstone here."

Responding to the university's critics, Rivlin noted, "When they mocked, you built. When they yelled, you created a magnificent institution. When they boycotted you, you proved that there was an excellent academy here, an academy that has room for every [male] student and [female] student regardless of race, color, religion or gender."
